Limefield Mansion House is a secluded listed Georgian property situated in West Calder. The property offers, not only residential accommodation and serviced apartments but also a range of venue facilities for the likes of weddings, functions, private dining and conferences.
The property boasts a significant cultural heritage as it was the former home of the chemist James ‘Paraffin’ Young who founded the paraffin industry and was responsible for creating the very first oil refinery in the world. James Young was also a good friend of the legendary explorer and adventurer David Livingston, who stayed at the property regularly and planted the large Corstorphine Sycamore tree in the centre of the front garden in 1860.
All rooms feature a flat-screen TV, free WiFi, a hospitality tray with a kettle and tea/coffee. Breakfast is served in the main dining room of the property and some suites have a small kitchen with tea making facilities, refrigerator, kettle, toaster and microwave. Pets are welcome. The drawing room is available for guests to relax with a book, tea and coffee, and a variety of snacks.
Whether this is your first visit, or you have been a guest many times, we want your experience to be memorable. Our staff are always available to help with any questions or concerns you may have.
